I need help toilet training my cat.?
Question by caralezie: I need help toilet training my cat.?
I bought the Citikitty toilet training system and have started training my cat. I started by placing plasitic on the floor under the seat and placed it on the floor near the tioilet as her “new litter box” She immediately took to it, however, she stood in the middle (where water will someday be) and peed on the rim/seat & floor (thank god for the plastic). Any suggestions on how I can get her to stand on the seat or just turn around? Do you think once I put it on the toilet she’ll just adapt? I just don’t want the waste falling from toilet height.

Help with toilet training my cat?
Question by Haley: Help with toilet training my cat?
Yes, I’m toilet training my cat.
This question is for people who are familiar with this..
I’m on the step where she is using the bowl of litter in my toilet and I’m trying to get her front paws on the toilet seat instead of the bowl.
I lift her paws up on the seat and she has definitely been learning to keep them there..
Sometimes she puts them up when I walk towards her because she knows what I’m going to do.
But she has yet to just do is automatically, although she is so close.
She is still inclined to have all 4 feet in the bowl.
When I leave my apartment, I keep the toilet seat up so that she can go to the bathroom, but then I realized that if she uses the litter bowl when I’m not home, she isn’t learning to put her paws up.
So then I tried keeping the lid down while I was gone or asleep, so that I was there to put her paws up EVERY TIME she went.
Then, the other night, she went to the bathroom right beside the toilet. I guess because she couldn’t hold it.
I felt bad and now I leave the cover up at all times.. But I desperately want her to move past this step.
I’ve been trying to get her to do this for 2 or 3 weeks, and she’s learning.. But slowly.
I saw the most progress when I left the seat down while I was gone.
Yes, I started off by giving her treats when she did it correctly.
She likes the treats but isn’t crazy enough about them to be eager to use the litterbowl correctly.
So, I need advice!
Maybe a reccommendation on a treat that she will do anything for, or something?

Toilet Training my Cat – Help with a setback please?
Question by dye4tie: Toilet Training my Cat – Help with a setback please?
I’ve been working on toilet training my cat, Allie, using this guide: http://www.karawynn.net/mishacat/toilet.html. She’s been doing well up to this point, not even blinking as I raised her litter box up, moved it on top of the toilet and then switched it out for a mixing bowl set in the toilet.
However, now that her potty space has decreased in size from a rectangular box to a small round bowl, she seems to have fallen off track. She urinates fine, two feet in the bowl still, but we’re working on that. The problem is with solid waste. She scratches in the bowl and lines herself up to go incorrectly, with her head over the actual bowl and her backside hanging off the toilet, so that her feces end up on the toilet seat and floor. If I catch her in the act, I realign her in the proper position and she’ll do it correctly then, but she doesn’t seem to be catching on when I can’t correct her every time.
So how can I get her to use the CORRECT part of the toilet?
Thank you.
Other information:
Allie is a black mix-breed, DMH rescue, about 1 year old, no health issues

I would get a deeper bowl.. so that her butt can’t really hang off.. ? if not I would just keep on correcting her. maybe she’s like a kid.. everytime you see her do it right give her a treat.. when she does it wrong scold her.

Having toilet training problems with my cat. Can anyone help?
Question by annar11155: Having toilet training problems with my cat. Can anyone help?
I got a cat from a local animal shelter a few months ago. After some serious thought, I decided to try toilet training my cat. I found a website stating to raise the litter box to the toilet, put it over the toilet, and finally placing a metal bowl in the toilet and the cat will go in the metal bowl. You’re then supposed to gradually take away litter and replace it with water and finally take it away.
Well, it seems my cat is a little diva and refuses to go in the metal bowl when it is in the toilet (she will go in the litter box on the toilet). She will go if the bowl is on the ground. I’ve tried giving her treats when her feet are in the bowl and watch when she’s going to use the bowl and lift it up on the toilet as she’s going. She still refuses. Is there anything I can do?

Answer by Master of My Own Opinion
hold your cat over the toilet and pee on it. then stuff your cat in the toilet and fill your toilet with litter.
no need to flush. the cat will probably be so freaked out that it will sh1t on itself in the toilet. problem solved the cat crapped in the toilet.

Cat toilet training help?
Category: QA
I’ve been training my cat to use the toilet for a few weeks now. I currently have a bowel fitted into my toilet and have it filled with litter maybe a inch or so deep. The bowel is sturdy and does not move about, so my cat is secure with it. She will use it, but only when I place her on the toilet, after which I reward her with praise and treats. Unfortunately, she has not taken the initiative to use the toilet without my placing her on it. She will go hours (while I’m at work) without relieving herself. I know this because I haven’t seen or smelled any messes in the house, and when she does finally go, there is a lot to come out. I’m uncertain on where to go from here. We’ve been at a stand still like this for about 2 weeks and I’d like to move on rather than give up, thus confusing her even more. Prior to attempting this, my cat was always jumping on and walking across the toilet, so she’s certainly not shy with it. Any suggestions?
