Has anyone had luck toilet training cats?

Question by Jkittens: Has anyone had luck toilet training cats?
I plan on starting this with my kitten. He’s 4 months old. He is always getting on the toilet to watch the flush & swirl, & sometimes sticks his paw in the water. I’ve never seen him drink out of the toilet, so I think he would be OK with it.
Yes, I’m serious, so please be serious with your answers.

I watched some on Youtube. I tried once, and i read, put plastic wrap over the bowl, litter, then decrease… well my cat stepd in, tore the plastic, and got her leg dunked. Try it if you have 2 toilets at least. the litter is expensive. they can’t flush tho. it might be unsanitary to flush cat waste as that gets recycled at the water plant. If you scoop n flush… it can clog up the throne. try it when they are young.

Having toilet training problems with my cat. Can anyone help?
Question by annar11155: Having toilet training problems with my cat. Can anyone help?
I got a cat from a local animal shelter a few months ago. After some serious thought, I decided to try toilet training my cat. I found a website stating to raise the litter box to the toilet, put it over the toilet, and finally placing a metal bowl in the toilet and the cat will go in the metal bowl. You’re then supposed to gradually take away litter and replace it with water and finally take it away.
Well, it seems my cat is a little diva and refuses to go in the metal bowl when it is in the toilet (she will go in the litter box on the toilet). She will go if the bowl is on the ground. I’ve tried giving her treats when her feet are in the bowl and watch when she’s going to use the bowl and lift it up on the toilet as she’s going. She still refuses. Is there anything I can do?

hold your cat over the toilet and pee on it. then stuff your cat in the toilet and fill your toilet with litter.
no need to flush. the cat will probably be so freaked out that it will sh1t on itself in the toilet. problem solved the cat crapped in the toilet.

Question by Em-pod: I’m in the process of training my cat to use the Toilet, has anyone else tried this?
My cat has been training to use the toilet for about 3 weeks now & is on the 2nd level of training with the Litterkwitter, she’s going really well, I was just wondering if anyone else has completed the training & how long it took until their cat was using the toilet confidently!

Good luck if you can get your cat to use a toilet to do its business. I always believed until now that nature intended for them to dig a hole in the ground to do it and then they go to great lengths to cover it up with their paws.
What do you think? Answer below!

Question by razzb: Anyone tried toilet-training their cat?
I’ve heard that toilet-training your cat is possible and have seen some “how-to” guides online, but I was wondering if anyone here has actually done it and, if so, do you have any tips?

sure, start with the litter box in the bath room, then set it on top of the closed toilet. then you’ll need to rig up a self supported tray that sits below the toilet rim. after a bit take the litter away. and there you go.

I want to toilet train my cat. He is 6 years old, but he is very good about using his litter box, even when it is dirty, or if I move it to different rooms.
Has anyone used the citikitty or another device like it?
Thank you.
Is anyone toilet training their cat and/or had success in doing so?

I am currently toilet training my 2 seven month old kitties. I bought a device I found on the internet called The Feline Evolution Catseat. They are using it on the floor and are about 9 or 10 days into the training. Today I made a major change and took out the white tray, raised the box up and I am using the little baggies that come with it to catch their business instead of the tray. I hope they use it this way….if anyone has any experience training a cat to use a toilet, I would love to hear about it! Thanks!
I saw Meet The Parents but that is NOT why I am doing this. I want to eventually have a baby and I don’t want to get rid of my cats on account of not being able to live with dirty litter! Also, it is just much cleaner without a smelly box around !!!

Oh, another thing…I have two bathrooms so they will have their own toilet to use whenever they want.
