he does pee in the toilet though. Now i backed up a step and made a wood with a medium sized hole in it.

How do I stop that?

Good luck. I tried to train one cat – only worked till I took off the liner. He saw the water in the bowl and would never get up there again.

IMO its not worth my time to train them – I have no problems with scooping a litter pan.

Cat uses the toilet

Siamese cat, Troo, uses the toilet, while his brother Finn pulls a towel down over my head, then goes over to investigate Troo’s amazing feat. This is not like housebreaking a dog, or even a cat for that matter. It is more like teaching a trick. It takes a long time – like months, and it is not 100%. there is a good book out that I used the first time I toilet trained a cat – this is my 3rd toilet trained cat. The book is called, strangely enough “How to toilet train your cat”. It might be in print, or it might be available on amazon.com. The technique there is to get a toilet seat and attach it FIRMLY to the litter box, and over time have the litter box raised and moved closer to the toilet, and finally shifting the cat from the litter box to the toilet. This does not work if you have several cats and they are not all doing this project; toilet training the cat. I took aluminum pie tins and floated one in the toilet with some kitty litter in it. the pie tin is big enough that it can’t sink, but it is flimsy enough that the cat only tries once to actually climb into it. The cat eventually gets interested and tries out the pie tin, and when he does, he gets a big treat and lots of praise. Then the pie tin gets emptied and some new clean litter added to it. only a handful of litter. He quickly learns that the toilet is always clean and does not smell like a litter box, and starts to prefer it. The treats don’t hurt. I use wood stove pellets for kitty litter as they have no …

The CitiKitty trainer set arrived. She was nervous with the new changes so I lored her with cat treats to get her stepping on the seat. walking around on the seat put her mind on ease now she feals ok on it. Yeah Starr starts using it… Good Girl!!

Why not just get the training thing from the store, you only need to use it for a little while. I trained my 2 cats with that.

She’s 8 weeks old and not old enough to hop on the toilet. So I put her litter box by the toilet and wanted to give her a head start so, on her 2end day I raised it by 3 inches with a phone book. Four inches was too hard for her but she’s doing good with 3. I will add another two inches every week until it’s she’s old enough to hop on the toilet. Then will put the litter box on the toilet. Then time for the toilet pan with litter in it and then the LOVELY REMOVING OF THE PAN. My concern is that my toilet is huge. And she’s a girl. I mean, girls have to squat. How can she squat with out falling in? I mean, if it was a male kitten he could just use his hose, but how does it work with a girl? She’s not even close to this stage yet and won’t be big enough for another month or so but please help. It’s making me nervous.
I’ve never done this before. It’s my first time. But I want to do it, partly because it just looks really cool to see a cat use the toilet. And partly because I’m on ssi and it would help to save money on litter. I’ll be the envy of the block.
plus I don’t have a car so it’s hard getting litter home on my bike.

No . Gender doesn’t matter. Age does. Toilet train a kitten 6 weeks old.
